Long Break

I haven't knitted much and all I've made has been for school (other than a couple of wreaths for the holidays that have passed), but I've been busy being creative!
I've been researching education reform for several months now and things are really starting to come together for me. I'm so excited to see what can be done right now!!! My students are already responding well to the few things I've tried. It has had its moments where first graders are creatures of habit, but they are also curious and excitable little people who want to have fun. We've had so much fun!
We are about to start a unit on Community. I'm starting from the most natural point for young children - they are going to teach each other about themselves. Then we will move all the way out to their role in the global community. This fits right in with what I'm so excited about.
Can't wait to get started!
